A Little At Home Project

Well summer can't be all work or all glamping, so we had to spend some time doing a couple of at home projects.

Project one was replacing my cloth gazebo in the backyard with a hard top one.

We were able to get a gazebo on end of season clearance at Lowes.

My husband and son spent more hours than they wanted to assembling said gazebo.

Yesterday my husband hung my fan from Amazon and outdoor lights from Home Depot.  The downside to the fan is the only control for it is on the fan itself.  Well, I'm not 10ft tall, so that is HIGHLY inconvenient, so we purchased a remote control outlet and used that to plug both the lights and fan into and makes it super easy to turn off and on with the click of a button.  I like the fan on high at all times so adjusting the speed isn't an issue.  During the day it's enough to keep a breeze going, and at night it helps to keep the bugs away. I hung a command hook in the kitchen inside the sliding doors to be able to bring the remote in and not lose track of that.

The week I have tension rods and curtains coming with these pretty magnetic tiebacks.  There are times during the mid and late afternoon where the sun just beats in and we needed to have something there to block that out.  Will update with picture once those arrive and we get them all hung and set.

Next weekends project (if all goes according to plans) will be a new porch.  Summer is rapidly coming to an end and we need to button up a few more outdoor projects.

Here it is all set up and being enjoyed with a nice fire by my daughter and her friend.

It's also super peaceful in the morning to just hang out with the table fire pit going when the world is still not stirring and you can just relax.
