Glamping Entertainment

So, we did a "glamping" thing.  We purchased a WAY big inflatable movie screen  and a projector.  The screen was a little bit of a trial and error on the way to set it up.  We found inflating it and then laying it down velcro side up and attaching the screen inflated and frame laid down was the easiest.  We fold it length wise in half I hold one side while husband was at the other side and I keep my end raised off the velcro and he works his way down attaching the velcro.  After the top half is attached we attach the bottom half in the same fashion.  Quick tip make sure the zipper is closed near the blower.  It makes it near impossible to do anything without being entirely inflated and the zipper closed is what makes that work.  Ask me how I know.

We also purchased a tripod for the projector.  The first tripod we are in the process of returning.  It has good reviews, but it is not sturdy and it actually tipped over when I was taking the setup down the first night we used it.  Now the ground was not perfectly flat (I mean we were camping), but even on flat ground it is still cheaply made and I would rather have a little bit of a more sturdy tripod.  We have ordered a replacement tripod and it is expected to be delivered today.  Will update if we like that one better.

The audio on the projector is sufficient for a couple people sitting near the speakers and frankly preferable if you are camping close to others as not to disrupt them.  You don't want to be "that" neighbor unless you are inviting them all over to join you for movie night.

However, if you are not near people and having a larger group of people I would recommend connecting a bluetooth speaker for a better audio experience.

I would say my major complaint about the projectors is they play DVD and not Blu-Ray.  That seems to be par for the course with projectors.  I know most people are streaming what they watch, but unfortunately when I plugged in my Apple TV to stream a movie from Amazon and iTunes it mutes the sound for copyright reasons.  I have not figured out a work around.  Feel free to comment below if you have a suggestion or tip for that issue.  I can plug in a Blu-Ray player with the HDMI and I have not yet tried to see if I can stream from my "smart" player to the projector and see if that is a workaround.

I am a movie hoarder and tend to try and always buy the DVD/Blu-Ray combo packs when there is an option, so we have a wide variety of movies to choose from.

For those that are organizing geeks I will post the upgrade to our movie collection organization that makes transporting 400+ movies from the house to the RV a breeze.  It took a good 2 days to complete the task, but is, in my opinion, the best way to have your movies organized without all the cumbersome cases to deal with.
